GETTING TO SLOVENIA
Slovenia is a small country situated at the heart of Europe, approximately halfway between Vienna and Venice, which can be quickly reached by modern motorways. Slovenian airports, esecially in Ljubljana, are very well connected with major European cities, while Trieste, Zagreb, Graz and Venice airports are also are a very reasonble option for arriving in the country. Slovenia can also be easily reached by sea, train and bus. We can suggest several incoming tourist agencies, which can help you organise your travel.
I. ARRIVING BY AIR
Slovenian is well connected will regular international flights to most European capitals. Ljubljana airport is the best gate to the country, but Trieste and Venice (Italy), Zagreb (Croatia) and Graz (Austria) airports are in all close proximity to Slovenia and can easily be used as a point of arrival ot departure. a) SLOVENIAN AIRPORTS
Flight to/from Ljubljana airport (Jože Pučnik airport)
Ljubljana Airport is open every day from 6:00 until 22:00 and has all the amenities of an international airport, including a tourist agency, a car rental agency, air taxi service and express shipping company. Adria Airways (national carrier) and other companies offer regular schedule flights to most major European cities. Ljubljana is linked to Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, Zurich, Brussels, Paris, Barcelona, Helsinki, London, Dublin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Moscow, Budapest, Belgrade, Skopje, Sarajevo, Ohrid, Tirana, Istanbul, Podgorica, Prague, Priština, Warsaw, Kiev and Rome. Some of the services do not operate in the winter season.

Flights to/from Maribor (Northeast Slovenia)
Maribor Airport is open from 6:00 am to 9:30 pm. The terminal building has a restaurant and a duty-free shop. At the moment Maribor only has regular Ryanair service to London on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Click here for more info.
Fligth to/from Portorož (Western Slovenia)
Portorož airport is small international airport on the coast (runway 1200 m, asphalt, lighted) with charter flights, mainly in the summer. It has a duty free shop, car rental, restaurant, taxi service, hotel and restaurant reservation, air taxi, panorama flights, pilot school. Click here for more info.

Flights to/from Trieste (Italy)

Flights to/from Zagreb (Croatia)
This airport is located about 20 km from the border with Slovenia and is an excellent option for arrivals to the southern part of Slovenia (the spa region). It is especially appropriate if you are arriving from German cities like Berlin, Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Nuerenberg, Stuttgart, Cologne. Click here for more info.

AIRLINES FLYING INTO SLOVENIA
a) NATIONAL CARRIER ADRIA AIRWAYS
Adria Airways flies to all major European cities. The carrier has become a regional member of the global aircraft association Star Alliance in 2004. Members of the association perform more than 14,000 flights daily at 755 destinations in 133 countries.

OTHER CARRIERS
Airline carrier Ryanair
On 7th June 2007 the Irish low price carrier, Ryanair, started to fly from Maribor Airport. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays it connects Maribor Airport with London’s Stansted Airport.
Airline EasyJet
On April 28th 2004 the low-fare airline EasyJet started flying on London (Stanstead) - Ljubljana route. The price of return ticket is from 45 EUR and up, and the price of a single ticket from 20 to 30 EUR. Tickets are available from the web page of the airline Easy Jet.
WizzAir Airline Carrier
From 1.5.2006 the low price carrier WizzAir has offered flights from Ljubljana Airport, connecting Ljubljana Airport with Brussels Charleroi Airport three times a week. Tickets can be purchased on the web site of the carrier WizzAir or by telephone through the call centre WizzAir: +48 22 351 94 99 or personally at the ticket office at Ljubljana Airport.
Hungarian national airline carrier Malév
Hungarian national airline carrier Malév has been flying from Budapest to Ljubljana since May 2004 twice a day at workdays and once a day on Saturdays and Sundays. It is especially intended for businessman as they can leave for a business meeting in the morning and return in the evening. Malev enables good connections to East, South Europe and the Mediterranean. Tickets will be available to passengers with all IATA tourist agencies and the counter of Malév representative office at Ljubljana Airport, tel: +386 4 20 61 676 and on the web page Malev Hungarian Airlines.
Airline Austrian Airlines
Austrian Airlines flies to Vienna every day at 8.30 by the plane type Dash 8 -300 Q. It is a connecting flight which enables passengers to reach other destinations from Vienna in the framework of their widespread net of connections. Tickets are available from the web page of the Austrian Airlines.
Turkish Airlines
From 16th January 2006 Turkish Airlines, the Turkish airplane carrier, is flying three times per week between Ljubljana and Istanbul (Istanbul Ataturk Airport), that is on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays. Finnish Airline Carrier Finnair
As of 6th April 2007, the Finnish Airline company, Finnair, is a new regular airline carrier at Ljubljana Airport. Finnair flies between Ljubljana and Helsinki four times a week (on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays) with 76-seat Embraer 170 planes. Ticket prices start at €300 (tax and other fees are not included). Helsinki Vantaa Airport is an excellent starting point for connecting flights to Asia.
French Airline Carrier Air France
Since 2004, the French national airline carrier Air France has been flying from Ljubljana Airport three times a day on week days, with two flights on Saturdays and one flight on Sundays. Air France flies Embraer RJ 145 type planes to Charles de Gaulle Airport. These flights enable the continuation of travels within the framework of their wide spread network of connecting flights from Paris. Czech Airline Carrier Czech Airlines
For the fifth consecutive year Czech Airlines offers flights on the route Ljubljana – Prague – Ljubljana. Its fleet comprises ATR 42 type aircraft. Click here for more information.
