Park of Military History in Pivka is much more than just a military museum with an interesting tank and artillery collection and a collection on the strategic importance of the Ljubljana gap area.
What makes Park of Military History really special are educational and entertaining special events, which will give you a flavour of the rich political and military history of the wider region. Try our WWII re-enactment, taste food from the field kitchen, carry a WWII weapon and think about the role of warfare on societies and individuals.

Old military barracks now becoming a tourist, museum and experiental centre. The venue is located 10min from Postojna cave, the biggest tourist attraction of Slovenia. Ljubljana and the coast are both 45 minutes aways. It takes 2 hours to reach Venice. |

In combination with a re-enactment or independently we can organize a series of incentive programs for groups between 20 and several hundred participants:
a) Spy game will lead you through underground tunnels to a hill-top underground fortress, where you will need to defuse a bomb;

|
A re-enactment of a WWII battle between German and Allied Armies will give your guests a unique history lesson with the real sights, smells and sounds of war. The re-enactment features 30 soldiers in authentic uniforms that will fire weapons of the Second World War and drive around in WWII military vehicles such as the legendary Jeep Willy. This experiential event lasts for 1 hour and includes a 15 minute educational program that will explain historic circumstances in 1944, when the battle of Pivka could have taken place had Winston Churchill persuaded the Americans to land in Istria and invade Europe through the Ljubljana Gap. Before and after the battle we play the music of the era. The event works best if preceded by incentive games and followed by an meal from the field kitchen. |
